To the editor:
What did McGrail do for the residents of Cape Coral - he gave us a 7 percent increase on our electric bill and more taxes. And not even a refund on storm water fees, like required under state law?
And he wants a bright future for the Cape or for the employees at City Hall? Because the unions were the ones that gave him money so you know who he was working for?
Also, he made sure the city manager had a good deal - a housing and car allowance and now the manager wants a retirement plan. And what do the residents get? Higher tax rates and fees. We need major cuts in spending and services or we will end up like Detroit.
We need people on the council that are going to look out for the taxpayers, not the employees. With all the taxes and fees, no companies are going to want to move to the city or even do business with these people.
Hope in the future more people turn out to vote and put a end to the waste in City Hall.
