Red Sox set spring schedule

BOSTON, Mass.-The Boston Red Sox released their 2014 Spring Training schedule Thursday, which includes 17 games at the team's facility at JetBlue Park at Fenway South.

Tickets for all 2014 Spring Training games are scheduled to go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at JetBlue Park, by phone, and on redsox.com.

Eight of the 15 seating categories at JetBlue Park will increase by $2. Ticket prices range from $5 to $48. There is no price change for the seven seating categories priced $15 or less. This marks the Red Sox's third at JetBlue Park at Fenway South.

All 2014 day games at JetBlue Park are scheduled to begin at 1:05 p.m. and all night games will start at 7:05 p.m. Boston opens the Grapefruit League season with two college exhibition games on Thursday, Feb. 27, a 1:05 p.m. single admission doubleheader starting with a game against the Northeastern University Huskies followed by a game with the Boston College Eagles.

The Red Sox launch their home schedule on Friday, Feb. 28 at 1:05 p.m. against Mayor's Cup rival Minnesota. The Twins host Boston at Hammond Stadium the following night, the second of six contests between the cross-town foes.

On Monday, March 17, at 1:05 p.m., the St. Louis Cardinals visit JetBlue Park for a St. Patrick's Day rematch of the 2013 World Series participants. The Red Sox also play a game against the Cardinals in Jupiter on March 5.

The Red Sox will visit the AL East rival New York Yankees on March 18 in Tampa, and will host the club at JetBlue Park on March 20.

The 2013 World Series champion Red Sox once again will hold an free Open House at JetBlue Park on Saturday, Feb. 22.
