Next month's roster of activities at Cape Coral Lee County Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public:

ADULTS

Craft Corner: Knitting and Crocheting

3:30 p.m. Mondays, Dec. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Bring ideas to light and make a handmade treasure. Materials will be provided for newcomers, or bring a project to work on. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Lee County Public Library. Registration is requested.

Books & Banter: Food Books

9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3

Food and holidays seem to go together. Come share favorite cookbooks, food memoirs, culinary mysteries, or food fiction titles. Select Dark Torte, Comfort Food, Kitchen Confidential or some other work to relish. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Lee County Public Library.

Chess Anyone?

5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Dec. 3, 10, 17

Rise to the chess challenge and join the fun. Everyone is welcome. Bring a personal chess set or use the library's. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Lee County Public Library.

English Caf

6 p.m. Tuesdays, Dec. 3, 10, 17

10 a.m. Fridays, Dec. 6, 13, 20

Practice English with English Cafe, a free, conversation session for adult ESOL and ESL students. Each 90-minute session provides adult learners an opportunity to practice speaking English with native speakers. Participants may start at any time. Advanced registration is not necessary.

FAMILIES

Family Storytime

10 a.m. Tuesdays, Dec. 3, 10

9 a.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 4, 11

This program is for the whole family and lasts about 30 minutes.

Baby-Parent Rhyme Time

10 a.m. Thursdays, Dec. 5, 12

Be prepared to tickle, jump and fly with your baby! These rhymes and songs are for infants, up to 24 months, accompanied by an adult. This 20-minute program is filled with songs designed to introduce rhyming and movement to infants.

CHILDREN

Preschool Storytime

11 a.m. Tuesdays, Dec. 3, 10

11 a.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 4, 11

Preschoolers (ages 3 to 5) attend this storytime independently while parents or caregivers wait nearby in the library building. This storytime includes activities that require more participation and a longer attention span. Each preschool storytime lasts about 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Kids Read Down Fines

6 7 p.m. Mondays, Dec. 2, 9

3:30 4:30 p.m. Thursdays, Dec. 12, 26

Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading, during the allotted time. A total of $8 per day may be earned. For ages 18 and younger. Coupons may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only.

Winter Holiday Craft Program

4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12

Enjoy a story and make a craft. Families, children, tweens and teens welcome. Yes, there will be glitter! Registration is required.

Create a Holiday Card

Create a holiday card for a special friend or member of your family. Registration is not required. Just drop in! Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Lee County Public Library.
