Pinchers Crab Shack opens

at Tarpon Point in Cape Coral

Renowned locally owned and family operated seafood restaurant Pinchers Crab Shack has officially opened its doors for the first time in Cape Coral.

The ninth location, Pinchers Crab Shack at Tarpon Point location has 50 tables including outside, waterfront dining by the marina and encompass a total of 7,000 square feet.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and is open from 11 a.m. to 10: p.m. daily.

The address is 5991 Silver King Boulevard, Cape Coral.

Pinchers Crab Shack has been operating in Southwest Florida for 16 years. 20 Minute Tan closes its doors

After serving the Cape Coral market for over 19 years, 20 Minute Tan has announced that it has closed their doors effective Nov. 1.

According to a release announcing the closure, the owners have decided that it's time retire from the industry and pursue other interests. 20 Minute Tan has been a staple in the community since Nichole and Matt Dukas began their indoor tanning business in 1993.

All of the equipment, including a large array of high pressure tanning beds, spray and stand-up booths will be sold at auction Nov. 21. RepoSell.com, South Florida's largest public auction house, will be offering the assets to the general public through its on-line auction platform with no minimums or reserve bids.

Chili's Grill & Bar

helping raise funds for JDRF

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., more than 130 Chili's Grill & Bar restaurants throughout Florida will come together to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. To participate in the "Give Back Event," guests just need to bring their appetites to their local Chili's and mention the fund-raiser to their server or bring in the attached flyer. In return, Chili's will donate 10 percent of the guest's food, beverage and ToGo sales to help JDRF's fight against Type 1 diabetes.

Patel family purchases

Wooten's Airboat Tours

EVERGLADES CITY Wooten's Airboat Tours, an airboat tour company near Everglades City, was recently purchased by the Patel family of Fort Myers. The previous owner, Gene Wooten, inherited the company from his father, Raymond Wooten, in the early 1990s. When Raymond started the company in 1953, it was the first Everglades airboat company in Southwest Florida.

George Patel and his son, Aashish, who also own and operate Everglades City Motel and Captain Doug's Everglades Tours, have already begun to make improvements, including adding an hourly alligator show run by an experienced handler.

Wooten's will keep what makes it unique: 253 acres of private land, airboat tours through the grasslands of the Everglades, swamp buggy tours through a cypress forest, and an animal sanctuary home to panthers, snakes, otters, bobcats, tigers, crocodiles, and over 100 alligators.
