Becky S. Sabin, 56, a North Fort Myers resident since 1986, formerly of Ravenna, Ohio, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, in Cape Coral. She was born April 16, 1957, in Ravenna. She was preceded in death by her parents, Art Lopez and Jeanette (Lopez) Booth.

While growing up in Ohio, she was active in 4H which helped foster her love for sewing and her love of animals, especially dogs, cats and horses. She previously owned four Labrador retrievers that she enjoyed competing with in obedience and retrieving competitions. She took first place in obedience with her dog Major.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, Robert G. Sabin of North Fort Myers; two loving sons, Jason (Marla) Sabin and Andrew Sabin, all of North Fort Myers; a sister, Bonnie (Wally) Strong of Maryland; a brother, Steve (Cindy) Lopez of Ravenna, Ohio; one grandson, Wyatt Sabin, also of North Fort Myers; Charlie Booth, step-father, of Ravenna; nephews and niece; three special friends, Anita Finnigan, whom she met saving feral cats 22 years go here in North Fort Myers; Peach Schilmiller, whom she met through 4H; and Linda Berlin, whom Becky met while training dogs; as well as her current pets, Max and Annie the dogs, and Lexus, Pork Chops, Nettie, Peaches and Cali the cats.

Memorial services will be held at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, at the Hope Hospice Chapel, 2430 Diplomat Parkway, East, Cape Coral, with Dr. Charles A. Peal officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the Hospice Community Room.

Memorial services in Ohio will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at the First Congregational Church, 266 S. Chestnut St., Ravenna. Committal services will immediately follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ravenna, Ohio.

Memorial contributions in memory of Becky Sabin are suggested to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908, or the Animal Refuge Center (ARC), 18011 Old Bayshore Road, Fort Myers, FL 33917.
