Seahawks open with 4-0 win

Cape High made its boys' soccer season debut Monday night at Cypress Lake, claiming a 4-0 victory behind the three-goal night of sophomore Jonathan Jimenez.

Jhoan Mendez tacked on the fourth goal for the Seahawks, who got assists from Miguel Martinez, Camilo Avendano, Ryan Molloy and Eli Vega.

Goalkeeper Alex Collazo made eight saves to preserve the shutout victory for the Seahawks (1-0), who host Island Coast on Thursday.

Girls Soccer

Island Coast 2, Gateway 1: Goalkeeper Sydney Brookhauser made 11 saves to make the goals by Morgan Whitman and Cassandra Aguilar stand up in Island Coast's victory at Gateway Monday night.

Jessica Berry and Sharon Churlin each were credited with an assist as the Gators improved to 2-1 on the season heading into Tuesday's home game with North Fort Myers.

Oasis 1, SWF Christian 0: On an assist by Jackie Rone, Britney Skinner tallied the game-winning goal to lift Oasis to a shutout victory at Southwest Florida Christian Monday night.

Goalkeeper Kayla Luchan made eight saves to preserve the victory. Oasis (1-1) plays at Gateway Tuesday night.
