Vote your pocketbook

October 25, 2013
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

Listen up Cape Coral residents, early voting starts next week and Nov. 5 is the election date. If you love high taxes and excessive fees the vote for Sawicki Burch, Leon, and (chief tax raiser and fee hunter) McGrail.

If you want lower taxes and no fire fee then vote for Sullivan, Chulakes--Leetz, Williams, and Headd. They want lower taxes and no fees but the city to actually control spending. It seems ever since the slick six voted Szerlag as the city manager we've seen a new public service tax added to our electric bills. After which the slick six voted to give employees bonuses.

All Szerlag wants is more money, the heck with cutting spending. He'll bankrupt us like Detroit. Remember the average Cape resident that is registered to vote can far out number the union voters that want higher taxes so tell your friends and neighbors who are registered to vote get out and do so. Help control taxes and fees in the cape. Remember Sullivan, Leetz, Headd, Williams.

We need Williams in District 6. McGrail has to go, He led the raid on the storm water utility fund to buy 625 acres with no specific use in mind. He voted and led the way for the PST and the fire assessment fee. He voted and led the way to turn down street lighting to protect our children at school bus stops.

I'd say that's enough not to vote for McGrail.
