Aurelia C. Satava currently residing at the Gardens of Western Reserve, passed away Oct. 17, 2013. Aurelia (Lee) was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Austria-Hungary to Fred and Aranka Klein, now deceased. She came to the United States with her family in 1930 and settled in the Cleveland area. She graduated from Shaw High School and worked as executive secretary and receptionist at B.F. Goodrich Chemical Company, retiring after 35 years of service. Shortly thereafter, she and her husband, Ralph, moved to Cape Coral.
She was very active in the Southwest Florida Symphony Society and served as president during 1985 and 1986. As a couple, Ralph and Lee joined Palmetto-Pine Country Club and participated in all of the club's activities. After the death of her husband, she returned to Ohio in 2011.
She will be fondly remembered for her wonderful smile and annual Christmas Eve parties where the family gathered to celebrate the holiday season.
Mrs. Satava was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Ralph, whom she married in 1945; sisters, Rose Scharschmidt (Wilson) and Gladys Anderson (Donald); niece, Susan Vandenberg (John); and dear friend, Jane Andersen.
She is survived by brother-in-law, Richard Satava (Joann) of Hudson, Ohio; nieces, Jan Swartzel of Canal Fulton, Ohio, and Nancv Jones of Williamsburg, Va.; nephew, Bruce Scharschmidt (Peggy) of San Francisco; and nephew, Eric Anderson (Jennifer) of Charlotte, N.C.
It was her wish that she be cremated and her remains be buried alongside her husband's in the Memory Garden of Faith Presbyterian Church in Cape Coral.
