Robert E. Sheehan, 79, formerly of Cape Coral, passed on to God at home surrounded by his loving family Sept. 12, 2013, in Revere Beach, Mass.
Born in Boston in 1934 Daniel and Mary (Powers) Sheehan, now deceased, he leaves behind his beloved wife, Claire (Perrier) Sheehan, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Kathleen Thomassen, Nancy Tanguay and Carol Lyons of Massachusetts, Janice Vasko of Virginia, Patricia Hupp of New York, and Margaret (Peg) Sheehan of Cape Coral. He was the proud grandfather of six granddaughters, six grandsons and two great-granddaughters; and dear brother of Richard, Edmund, Catherine and MaryAnn, and the late Daniel, Raymond and Frances.
He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends and relatives.

A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Sheehan was also the former owner of Bob Sheehan's Westfield Volkswagen in Westfield, Mass. Upon moving to Cape Coral in 1983, he owned and operated Cape Cleaners until 1995.
Amongst attending St. Andrew's Catholic Church, a former member of the Rotary Club of Cape Coral and a longtime associate of Bill W., he held a strong belief in service to others.
He has been laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Bourne, Mass.
