Lucila M. Capo, 90, of Cape Coral, formerly of Puerto Rico, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, in Cape Coral. She was born Nov. 5, 1922, in Peuelas, Puerto Rico, to Antonio and Segundina Matos, now deceased.
She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Cape Coral. She was a devoted wife for 65 years. She was an inspiration to her children and grandchildren. She was a woman of generous heart and indomitable spirit. Throughout her life she pursued creative arts such as dress making, cake design, pottery and gourmet cooking. For over 25 years she was a proud member of the Bayamon Puerto Rico charter of Odd Fellows, rising to the rank of Grand Mas Noble. She has touched the heart of many and enriched the lives of all.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Jose Luis Capo, of Cape Coral; three children, Idalia Capo (Rene Rodriguez) of West Chester, Pa., Jose "Joe" Capo (Elizabeth) of Puerto Rico and Jorge L. Capo also of Puerto Rico; six grandchildren, Evelisse Capo, Carlo Garca, Marisol Garca, Jorge A. Capo, Diego Cap and Sergio Capo; as well as seven great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Siara, Shayla and Sheriza Hernandez, Cristin Santiago, Sofia Garca and Sarah Capo.

A funeral was held Thursday, Oct. 10, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2506 Gulf Gate Drive, Sarasota, with committal services following at Sarasota National Cemetery.
