The city of Cape Coral and Coral Oaks Golf Course are proud to host the 2013 City Champion-ship Golf Tournament the weekend of Oct. 19-20.
As in previous years, competitors will vie for the lowest score in a 36-hole stroke play format consisting of five men's flights and a ladies' division. Gross score champions and low senior score will be awarded in each of the men's flights and the ladies' division will recognize one low gross score champion and award prizes based on low net scores.
In addition to the two day tournament, Coral Oaks will host a Pro-Am event prior to the City Championship on Friday, Oct. 18, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start followed by Coral Oaks' 25th Anniversary Gala Celebra-tion from 6:30-10 p.m. The party will include food, music with Mike Imbasciani & His Bluez Rockerz, plus a chance to mingle with past city champions, course members and friends, and Cape Coral dignitaries. Admission to the gala is included with the City Championship and Pro-Am registration fees or non-golfers can attend the party for only $20 (includes two drink tickets).
"The City Champion-ship has become one of the premier amateur golf events in our area," said Allen Manguson, PGA director of Golf at Coral Oaks. "The event creates strong competition amongst golfers of every skill level and we are excited to kick off the tournament weekend with a Pro-Am event on Friday again this year, plus incorporate the course's 25th Anniversary Gala into the mix."
Entry fees are $75 per person for Friday's Pro-Am event, $125 for the weekend tournament, or a discounted price of $180 for both.
The tournament registration fee includes all green and cart fees for the 36-hole weekend competition, beverages on the course, lunch on Saturday, awards dinner on Sunday, range balls and tee gift for each golfer, prizes and trophies for the top finishers, plus one ticket to Friday evening's Gala Celebration.
The tournament is limited to 172 competitors and interested golfers can register for the tournament by visiting the Coral Oaks Pro Shop or calling (239) 573-3100. Blank entry forms can also be accessed on the Coral Oaks website www.CoralOaksGolf.com.
The deadline for registration is Oct. 13.
