Marie Delgado Savona, 60, of New London, Conn., entered eternal life Monday, Sept. 23, 2013. She was born April 25, 195,3 in Graciosa, Azores Island of Portugal, the daughter of Domitila Garcia of New Bedford, Mass., and the late Arnaldo DeSousa.
Mrs. Savona was a co-founder of Dartmouth Building Supply Co. and Delgado Construction Company in Dartmouth, Mass. She was last employed as an administrator in Savona Financial in Rocky Hill, Conn. She was united in marriage to Paul Savona, on Dec. 31, 2008, in Cape Coral. Mr. Savona survives her.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking traditional meals for family and friends. She also did crafts and rode motorcycles with her husband and friends. She loved her dearest companion, Shanna.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by two children, Jason Delgado of Westport, Mass., and Michelle Duarte of Dartmouth, Mass.; two brothers, Arnaldo DeSousa of New Bedford, Mass., and Manuel Sousa of Freetown, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Celeste, Alexa, Asa, Samantha, Christopher, Juliana and Leo; three step-children, Christopher Savona of Long Island, N.Y., Lindsay Donka of New London and Jonathan Savona of Florida; and her mother in-law, Carmela Savona of New London. She was predeceased by her sister, Maria Soares DeLurdes.
Her family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, Sept. 26, from 6-8 p.m., at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London, Conn.
The funeral will assemble Friday, Sept. 27, at 9 a.m., and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Entombment in St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum.
