Fundraiser to benefit Cape judo athletes

Judo dojos from Tampa, Naples and Miami join Kodokan Judo of Cape Coral this Saturday for a day of fundraising through an invitational judo tournament.

Kodokan Judo, 532 SE?47th Terrace, is the site of the event that runs from10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds from the event go toward Cape Coral judo athletes Erica and Christina Paccione who have earned a spot on the Junior National Judo Team that will represent the USA at an international competition in Harnes, France, in December.

Judo students from Sasaki Judo ATT of Tampa, Real Judo of Naples, and Champion Martial Arts and Iron Fighter Judo of Miami will compete during the fundraiser.

EA?Bicycles of Bonita Springs donated a Jamis youth bicycle valued at $350 to be given away along with two-night "stay-cation" prizes from Hilton and Marriott hotels, Ceno restaurant gift certificates and other prizes.

Tickets for the prizes will be sold during the day. Ticketholders need not be present to win prizes.

Food and beverages donated by judo parents will be sold throughout the day.
