Gregg Arthur Shosie, 69, of Cape Coral passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, in Cape Coral with his beloved wife of 30 years, Jo Anne, and daughters at his side. He was born Jan. 22, 1944, in Rockford, Ill., to Arthur and Charlotte Waldron Shosie, now deceased.
Along with his wife, Mr. Shosie is survived by his two daughters, Renee (Jose) Malachowski and Raquel Atkinson (Dennis Comolli), all of Fort Myers; his son, John (Tamara) Wilhelmson of Kenosha, Wis.; grandchildren, Auria, Lauren, Caleb and Jordyn Malachowski, Kendall and Jackson Wilhelmson; a brother, Wayne (Winnie) Shosie of Summerlin Key, Fla.; as well as a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ian Atkinson; his aunt and uncle, Golden and Paul Adwell; a sister, Vivian Awalt; a cousin, Carol Harvey; as well as dear friend, Brenda Pelletier.
He had a love for boating and RVing. He was a member of the Illinois Army National Guard, the Matlacha Yacht Club and the Cape Coral Elks Lodge #2596.
A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Elks Lodge #2596, 4631 S.E. 10th Place, Cape Coral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Shosie are suggested to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908, or the American Cancer Society, 4575 Via Royale, Ft. Myers, FL 33919.
