With the Florida State League playoffs just two weeks away, tickets for the South Division first-half champion Fort Myers Miracle are now available to the public.

The Miracle (36-20 at home, 35-27 away) have not been to the playoffs since 2009, but as the regular season plays out these final weeks the Miracle lead the league with an overall winning percentage of .602 (71-47) which is 4 1/2 games better than the second-place St. Lucie Mets (.565, 65-50).

Managed by 12-year Major League veteran Doug Mientkiewicz, the Miracle have posted one of the best seasons in team history and are among the top teams in all of professional baseball.

Three Miracle players are among the top 11 hitters in the league, led by second baseman Aderlin Mejia (.308, 4th). Catcher Matt Koch is ninth in the league (.287) and first baseman Kennys Vargas is 11th (.281). Overall, the Miracle also lead the league in batting average at .274.

Winning the South Division title in the first half assured the Miracle of a playoff appearance. Their 45-22 record (.672) in the first half topped the league. Dunedin won the North Division first-half title.

The Miracle currently are fourth in the second-half standings, 3 1/2 games behind the Mets

If the Mets win the second-half title, the playoffs would start on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in St. Lucie since the first-half division winner had the choice of hosting game 1 or games 2 and 3 in the best-of-three division championship series. The division champions advance to the best-of-five league championship series. The South Champion gets home field advantage for the championship series.

All postseason games start at 7:05 p.m. The first home game for the Miracle at Hammond Stadium is Wednesday, Sept 4. The third game of the series, if necessary, is at Hammond Stadium on Sept. 5.

Fans can order individual tickets online at, by visiting the team offices Monday through Friday (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) on the third floor of Hammond Stadium or by phone 239-768-4210. Tickets also can be purchased at the stadium box office opening at 4 p.m. on home game days.
