Cape Coral City Council shows no respect for residents rights?

August 2, 2013
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

It's about time for a big change in the way this city is being run, we need a new city manager and new council.

They want us to pay again for fire protection. Will they stop turning out trucks to go to accidents when they have no fire to sweep up glass? This is charged as a fire call. Also do they need to use the pumpers to go to Publix and Walmart for food? When is the waste going to stop..

And now they have concerns on paying the $50 million price tag for the police station which is still half empty? Perhaps the mayor was right, the Sheriff's Office should take over police duties in this city. We would have better service than we have now?

Also, now that we are going to pay a increase on our electric bills to the city, are they going to refund the $13 million they used from storm water funds to buy vacant land to ratepayer like they were suppose to do under state law?

If any city needs the FBI to look into the operation of city and it spending, it is Cape Coral with this city council - they do what they want.
