June programs set at Northwest Regional Library

Next month's roster of activities at Northwest Regional Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public:

Adults

Exhibit: Viva 500 Time Capsule

June 1 29

Available during normal library operating hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10 a.m. 6 p.m.; Tuesday: noon 8 p.m.; Friday,

Saturday: 9 a.m. 5 p.m.

The Lee County traveling time capsule will stop at Northwest Regional Library for the month of June. Patrons will learn about time capsules and what's inside and suggest new items to add. The time capsule will be sealed for 49 years as part of the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Fort Myers Regional Library and will be opened on Lee County's 175th anniversary, May 13, 2062.

English Caf

10:30 a.m. June 6, 13, 20, 27

Practice your English with English Cafe, a free, conversation session for adult ESOL and ESL students. Each 90-minute session provides adult learners an opportunity to practice speaking English with native speakers. Participants may start at any time. Advanced registration is not necessary.

Children

Kids Read Down Fines

10 a.m. Noon Saturdays, June 1, 15

5 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 11

Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading, during the allotted time. A total of $8 per day may be earned. For ages 18 and younger. Coupons may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only.

Father's Day Time Capsule

6 p.m. Tuesday, June 11

Children ages 5-12 will create a time capsule to share with their dads. Sponsored by the Friends of the Northwest Regional Library. Registration is required and begins May 28.
