Trashing the constitution

To the editor:

Destroying all that's good seems to be the pin head approach to everything that has served the best interests of our nation since its inception. Attacking every element that our founders put in place, that have contributed to the building of the greatest nation the world has ever seen, has become part of every-day occurrences.

The murder of millions of babies in the womb continues without remorse. It's as if wholesale murder in America is something to be proud of.

As for today's society it continues to fade. The Ten Commandments, offering instruction to all sensible people on how to behave, has been shelved in favor of meaningless babble.

And now the Constitution is being assailed.

The Second Amendment to the constitution, specifically designed to protect good hard-working citizens, for purely political reasons, is being subjected to shameful attacks. Theodore Roosevelt said; "patriotism means to stand by the country."

It does not mean to stand by the President or any other public "official." Patriotism means to preserve the Second Amendment to the constitution and to ignore the ravings of the radical individuals who continue to disrespect Jefferson, Madison, Lincoln, Washington.and the geniuses that built this nation. Certainly we need to be concerned about tragic deaths as a result of the misuse of firearms.and those responsible need to be brought to justice.

But let's examine some facts that the fear mongers never talk about. In the year 2011, in the United States, there were 323 deaths attributed to fire arms. There were 496 deaths by hammer. There were 650 deaths by knife. There were 12,000 deaths by drunk drivers. There were 195,000 deaths ascribed to medical malpractice.

And..millions of babies were murdered in the womb.

Yes, there should be outrage!

But, to defile the constitution, to disrespect our founders, our greatest Americans, and to punish those that have not misbehaved is not the mark of an intelligent society.

We need to understand why America is slipping at home and in opinions around the world, stop acting like political two-faced meat-heads, and pay attention to morality.
