Bill of Rights limitations

May 9, 2013
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

I appreciate the attention to the other Bill of Rights and their limitations but it seems that the primary concern is with the second. It is not my intent to be considered a howler or a haranguer nor do I consider those who want to place limitations on the second amendment to be libtard fascist or Ms. Feinstein to be Satanesque, however I do disagree with your opinion. How do you come to the conclusion that by further limiting the second amendment we are going to "Stop" this "Mass Butchery" every few months?

If I am not mistaken, we passed several laws restricting or limiting the use of heroin, opium, meth, marijuana and many other addictive drugs and perhaps it's only my limited view, but I cannot see where their use has been curtailed, much less stopped. Automobiles cause mass butchery everyday, are we going to restrict their use or limit their sale?

There is also another consideration to be put forth. Maybe we should consider putting restrictions on assault pressure cookers. Limit and license who can sell them. Make them all be registered. Make it illegal to sell one without doing a background check on the buyer. Remember they killed three and injured 265 people in Boston. Many people seem to think it is the instrument that kills, not the person who uses it. If guns are so dangerous, how does anyone get out of a gun show alive?

Thank you for taking time to read this. My intent was purely to give you something else to consider. This may be one time that our congress people actually got it right and the President's political view was wrong!
