William "Bill" Edward Breese died April 21, 2013, in Cape Coral.
He was born April 12, 1955, in Portage, Wis., to Robert and Violet Breese. He was a graduate of Portage High School and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He lived in Albuquerque, N.M., and later made his home in Cape Coral, where he was a landscape artist. He was most at ease when working with plants. His passion was clear in the countless hours he took to create and nurture his lush, beautiful home garden. He was a kind, gentle man who loved animals and shared his home with not only his dog and two cats, but also opened his garden to any hungry stray cat.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Jessica Sherifdeen (Mo); sisters, Mary Ray (Charlie) and Barbara Schave (Brian); granddaughter, Anaya Sherifdeen and former wife Sondra Pickens. He is also survived by his aunt, Kathy Bolgrihn; and great aunt, Hazel Riley; cousins, Robert and Christopher Bolgrihn, Curt Ray, Marilyn Peirick, Julie Quinn and Darlene Lerum; various nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and long-time friends, Steve Turner and Mark Dawson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his companion, Joanie McNally.
In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 19, at the United Methodist Church in Portage, Wis. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m., followed by services at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Silver Lake Cemetery in Portage immediately following the service.
