James Allen Davis, 65, a Lee County resident for the last 10 years, formerly of Waterbury, Conn., passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, in Cape Coral. He was born Feb. 5, 1948, in Port Jefferson, N.Y.
He will be remembered by loved ones as a fun-loving family man who would go above and beyond for anyone who was fortunate enough to cross his path. He was a renaissance and spiritual man who found adventure in everyday life. Aside from spending time with family and friends, his greatest joys were photography and music. He enjoyed being a greeter on Sunday mornings at Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Coral.
Mr. Davis is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Helen Davis of North Fort Myers; his mother, Clara Davis nee Thomsen of Keene, N.H.; three children, Amy (Jason) Baldwin-Stephens of Oakville, Conn., Kate Davis of Waterbury, Conn., and Sara (Dan) Genovese of Jersey City, N.J.; two sisters, JoAnn (Larry) Robinson of Marlborough, N.H., and Jane (Dan) Dolewski of Ivanhoe, Va.; one granddaughter, Avery Baldwin-Stephens; many loving nieces and nephews; as well as CC the cat.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, May 2, at Hope Hospice Chapel, 2430 Diplomat Parkway, East, Cape Coral, with Chaplain Paul Dissington officiating.
