Nicholas Gerald Pomponio, 81, a resident of Cape Coral since the mid 1980s, formerly of Long Island, N.Y., passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, in Cape Coral. He was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Enrico and Mary Pomponio, now deceased. He was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Eva Pomponio of Long Island, N.Y.; two stepchildren, Joann Grunner of Patterson, N.J., and J.J. Racano of California; a special niece, Marie DiTommaso of Tinton Falls, N.J.; five grandchildren, Kim and Nicole Grunner, and Dawn, Jaclyn and John Valente; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Pomponio, in 2007; his stepdaughter, Barbara Velente; and two brothers, Arthur and Henry Pomponio.
No formal services are planned at this time.
