After seeing an 8-2 lead disappear in the late innings, the Island Coast Gators had to come up with one last rally Saturday afternoon.
The Gators surrendered the game-tying runs in the top of the seventh inning, but Josh Moody came through with the crucial game-winning hit in the bottom of the frame to lift the Gators to a 12-11 victory over Monsignor Farrell.
Farrell scored five runs in the sixth inning to draw within 8-7. The Gators' Sam Malone responded with a three-run home run to take an 11-7 lead into the seventh.
Again, Farrell rallied for four runs to tie the game, setting the stage for Moody's RBI single with one out in the last of the seventh.
Cole Ondrejka and Andrew Nazario each contributed two hits to the Gators' cause and Andrew Nazario drove in a pair of runs. Cordell Hals earned the victory with one inning of relief.
The Gators (11-5) host Ida Baker on Tuesday.
