March 23, 2013
By JIM LINETTE ( , Cape Coral Daily Breeze

Mariner completed a season sweep against crosstown rival Cape Coral Friday night with a two-run, game-winning rally in the top of the seventh inning to claim an 8-7 district victory.

Both teams committed six errors in the field, but Cape's last one led to the game-winning runs.

With Alyssa Langdale and Cheyenne Krolczyk on base, Nichole Amaya hit an infield ground ball that was misplayed allowing both runners to score. Krolczyk drove in two runs for the Tritons.

Langdale, who surrendered six runs in the third inning as the Seahawks took a 7-5 lead, wound up earning the victory to improve to 9-7.

The Tritons host North Fort Myers on April 2 while the Seahawks play at Lemon Bay that day.
