John Robert Philp, 77, of Cape Coral died March 11, 2013, at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral. He was born March 24, 1935, in Boswell, Pa., a child of William and Christine (Davidson) Philp.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall. A resident of Cape Coral since 2000, he previously lived in Jupiter, Fla., where he worked as an installer for a window and door company. Recently he was employed as a security guard in downtown Fort Myers.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marianne M. (Kuhn) Philp; his daughter, Cheryl M. (Benjamin) Kendrick of Plano, Texas; his son, William Philp of West Palm Beach, Fla.; grandsons, Shane and Michael "Indy" Kendrick; and his sister, Christine Mansfield of Easton, Md.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 23, at 4 p.m., in the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, B Hall, 424 Nicholas Parkway, Cape Coral.
