Cape Coral real estate team aims to double its workforce to 30 employees

Growth is the watchword for Southwest Florida real estate in 2013, according to AJ Ackerman, Realtor at Century 21 Sunbelt in Cape Coral. His team, Randy Peska & Partners, plans to double its workforce this year from 15 to 30, after doubling from seven employees in the last three years.

Ackerman says the job growth is driven by an increase in home sale prices and a returning demand for new construction.

"The median sale price is up 43 percent since 2011. That means sellers increasingly want to sell. And home builders are pulling more permits. Last month Lee County issued 54 permits for new single-family homes, which is a 50 percent increase over January 2012," he said.

More sellers and more construction means more real estate transactions, which means Ackerman needs more talent.

Interested real estate agents can contact Ackerman at (239) 565-7867 or online at www.ackermanswfl.com/careers.

Tax credit available

for energy efficient

window film on homes

Beverly Hills Window Tinting & Treatments has announces that a new energy efficient window film tax credit has been approved by Congress. A release issued by the International Window Film Association stated that homeowners now have an opportunity to receive tax credits in 2013 for energy efficient upgrades. This includes upgrades that are planned for 2013, or those made in 2012. Window Film is one of the elements that is eligible for these tax credits. The tax incentive covers 10 percent of the cost of residential window tinting, for materials up to $500 in value.

Energy efficient window film has been determined to be a long-term and cost-effective solution for saving energy. It qualifies in legislation as insulation within a home's exterior envelope. This insulation helps to reduce energy consumption from solar heat in warmer temperatures, or reflect interior heat back inside in colder temperatures. In addition, it permits natural light to come in, while still blocking UV exposure.

To qualify for the tax credit, window film must meet with product compliance standards. The product's Qualifying Products Certification Statements should be reviewed to see which films, when installed with different window and frame types, qualify in various climate zones.

If the product qualifies for the window film tax credit, an IRS Form 5695 must be submitted with Income Tax Returns. It is also recommended to save copies of the dealer invoice and the manufacturer's Certification Statement.

For additional information regarding updated tax credit eligibility for window film, visit www.windowfilmtaxcredit.com or call Beverly Hills Window Tinting & Treatments at (239) 489-3838.
