To the editor:
Long-time reader, first-time writer. My spouse and I are dismayed at the condition of the Skyline corridor in our community. There is a large amount of litter. We now actively pick up trash along the Cape Alliance Church block several times per week, filling up an entire garbage bag.
We encourage others in the community to adopt a part of this roadway on which they live to keep it clean. The city should ask businesses along this corridor to police trash in their respective perimeter as trash frequently flows outward from them.
We are also requesting that the city resurface Skyline from Cape Coral Parkway to Gleason as this road is in very poor condition for the volume it receives.
Moreover, enforcement of existing speed limits should be addressed due to frequent accidents along this venue due to speeding.
In the long term, consideration should be given to using city-owed land across the street from Cape Alliance Church to be used as a park as this is multihousing corridor in a city which espouses parks.
Cape Coral is as great as its citizens choose to make it. A copy of this will be sent to our Mayor and City Council in hope of action on their part.
