Scott Clifford Van Deusen, 23, a lifetime resident of Cape Coral, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, in Fort Myers from injuries sustained in a traffic accident. He was born Oct. 12, 1989, in Cape Coral to his loving parents, Rory and Joyce Van Deusen of Cape Coral.
He will always be remembered for his sense of humor. He loved water sports, bicycling, camping and, of course, his online gaming. He was always willing to help others. He was an animal lover and loved most of all, his Kayla.
He is also survived by his brother, Brett Van Deusen of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his sister, Courtney (Shawn) Long, also of Cape Coral; maternal grandmother, Martha Hillicoss of Surprise, N.Y.; paternal grandmother, Marianna Van Deusen of Phoenix, Ariz.; two nephews, Cody and Mason Long of Cape Coral; his aunt, Heidi Van Deusen and her husband, Bruce Williams, also of Phoenix; as well as numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Clifford Hillicoss in 1988; paternal grandfather, Ronald Van Deusen in 2003; as well as his uncle, Fred Hillicoss, and aunt, Marilyn Rude.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at Grace United Methodist Church, 13 S.E. 21st Place, Cape Coral, with Pastor Wes Olds officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 p.m. until the hour of service.
