Tritons notch special win for coach

January 15, 2013
By JIM LINETTE (jlinette@breezenewspapers.com) , Cape Coral Daily Breeze

The Mariner Tritons blew past Cypress Lake 57-32 Tuesday night, handing coach James Harris his 138th win at the school.

The mark tied Harris with Frank Morris for the most coaching wins in school history. In a bit of irony, Harris achieved the feat in the Tritons' gym named to honor Morris.

"We did a good job of finding the open shooters tonight," said Harris. "We got hot and knocked down four three-pointers in the first quarter."

The hot streak helped the Tritons open a 19-7 lead that it never relinquished.

Rodney Hunter led the Tritons with 17 points and five rebounds while Rick Moore added 15 points and six rebounds. John Inkster added six rebounds.

The Tritons (11-7, 6-1 district) host North Fort Myers Thursday night with the district's No. 1 seeding at stake for the Tritons.
