William “Bill” Charles Teachout

William "Bill" Charles Teachout, 68, a long-time resident of Lee County, currently of St. James City, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012.

A Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. and the Navy, he was an active member of Pine Island's Moose, Elks and American Legion. Most knew him as an over-the-road semi truck driver, a career that he enjoyed very much.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Arline Norma Teachout; four children, Mark Rathburn of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Charmaine (Jeff Rindom) Hatter of Islandmorada, Fla., Linnea (Eugene) Sweeney of North Fort Myers and Eric Teachout of St. James City; one sister, Barbara Strickland, and one brother, Jim Teachout, both of Lakeland, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Ariel Sweeney and Zane Rindom.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffery Teachout.
