Bernard "Bernie" Russell Kissinger Jr., 75, a Cape Coral resident since 1972, passed away Tuesday, Dec, 25, 2012, in Cape Coral. He was born Oct. 11, 1937, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Bernard Kissinger, Sr. and Frances Kissinger, now deceased.
He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed spending time with family and traveling. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed coaching and umpiring little league and girls' softball.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 19 years, Maureen A. Kissinger of Cape Coral; five children, Kimberly (Dave) Dorminy of South Carolina, Lorene (Mike) Furda of Virginia, Greg Kissinger of Fort Myers, Susan (Bruce) Racicot of California and Karin (Gary) Colley of Cape Coral; two step-children, Michelle Novak and Paul Novak, both of Cape Coral; a sister, Joann (Ben) Haislett of Florida; two brothers, David Kissinger of Indiana and Stevan (Claudia) Kissinger, also of Indiana; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eleanor and Joseph McCabe also of Cape Coral.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced.
