Karlene Cooley, 87, of Fort Myers passed into the loving arms of God on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012. She was born on Dec. 3, 1925, in Morristown, N.J., to Russell Brown and Margaret (Murray) Brown.
She attended local schools and graduated from Morristown High School in 1943. In 1948 she married Frank Cooley and in 1953 they moved to 27 Glenbrook Road in Morris Plains. She lived in this home for 21 years and enjoyed raising her children there.
In 1974 she moved to Cape Coral following Mr. Cooley's retirement. At the time of her death she lived in Fort Myers with her son.
Mrs. Cooley worked for many years at a variety of jobs before retiring in 1990 from The Letter Box in Cape Coral. She had many interests and talents including sewing, crafts, baking and golf. She always made friends easily and treasured each one. She had a wonderful personality, a sunny disposition and a great sense of humor. She thoroughly enjoyed life and the thing she did best and loved most was being our mom.
