To the editor:
As an American I am so overwhelmed by the unacceptable manner in which our government is functioning. Our history reflects that sound judgment and established well tested principles work to provide guidelines to better govern this nation. So many in Washington have lost sight or forgotten why they are there, and what their jobs are.
Today we have professional politicians who base decisions on politics and lobbyists seeking favorable patrician decisions to enhance the economic future of the few.
I have no false preconceived ideas that uphold anything other than a dismal outcome that's about to effect most of America.
Right now I'm at a place in life where my primary concern is not of my future and the significant hardships ahead, but the future that lay ahead for my children and later generations.
For just one hour I wish that our politicians could be placed in our shoes and clearly understand and feel the effect of their own decisions. To find that you have worked a lifetime to achieve small ongoing goals for family and a future of stability and contentment. Then to set back and attempt to comprehend why it was taken away for all the wrong reasons.
I'll leave this with one final thought. "You can fool people, but you will never convince them that they have been fooled."
God Bless America and In God We Trust...
