David G. Lincoln, 61, of Cape Coral died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012. The angels at Hope Hospice provided him with care and comfort at his home. He was born on Jan. 2, 1951, in Milwaukee, Wis.
His 45-year career as a retail executive included JC Penny, Montgomery Ward, Elder-Beerman, H.C. Prange, Jacobson's and previous owner of Price Cutter stores. He loved golf and was so proud to have scored a hole-in-one on hole 8, at Grandezza in Estero. He attended Whittier College and the University of Wisconsin. He was a devoted volunteer and was on the board of directors of Special Equestrians, a nonprofit organization in Fort Myers.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Margaret (Ruh) Lincoln; daughters, Lauren Franklin and Alysson Lincoln; son, Cameron Lincoln; and his cherished grandson, Tyler Franklin; his sister, Mary Lincoln; brother, Bill (Sue) Lincoln; Haley and Cody Lincoln; Robert Stoltz and Will (Jane) Stabler; Hans (Jeanie) Ruh; Fritz (Cathy) Ruh; Audrey (Dave) McFalls; Judy (Jim) Woltersom; and many other family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Catherine Lincoln.
He wished to be cremated and a memorial service will be held today, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m., at Fuller Metz Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral.
The family has requested that memorial gifts be made to Special Equestrians Inc. PO Box 61528, Fort Myers, FL 33906-1528 in loving memory of David G. Lincoln.
