Oliver Leon Ginegaw, 89, a North Fort Myers resident since 1992, formerly of Elkton, Md., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, in Cape Coral. He was born July 31, 1923, in Fairport, N.Y., to Elmer and Helen Ginegaw, now deceased.
He was of the Methodist faith and was a US Navy World War II flight instructor where he served in Corpus Christi, Texas, from 1943 to 1945. He was an extensive world traveler and had lost count of the number of cruises he had been on. He loved the Florida warmth and was an avid dancer. He was the past president of the Elkton, Md., Rotary Club, the past president of the Elkton, Md., Chamber of Commerce and the past president of the Cecil County, Md., American Cancer Society.
Mr. Ginegaw is survived by his three loving children, William F. (Dolores) Ginegaw of Newark, Del., Nancy L. (Glenn) Williams of Galena, Md., and Leona M. Campbell of North Fort, Myers; seven grandchildren, Albert Hardy Jr., Pamela A. Blakeslee, Kari A. Buegel, Debra L. Prematta, Scott A. Ginegaw, Jeffrey M. Haggerty and Lorrie B. Ginegaw; as well as 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held in Maryland and New York at a later date to be announced via MullinsMemorial.com.
