The Mariner Tritons broke out on top and held off Lemon Bay down the stretch Tuesday night to record their first District 5A-13 victory 68-51.
A trio of Tritons reached double figures in scoring, led by Rodney Hunter's 20 points. Cailin Nash contributed 18 points and Rick Moore 16.
The Tritons led 34-23 at halftime and extended the margin to 54-35 after three periods.

Cape Coral 59, North Fort Myers 19: The Cape High boys basketball team captured its first win of the season Tuesday night, defeating visiting North Fort Myers, 59-19.
Leading the way for the Seahawks, who are now 1-4 on the year and 1-0 in the district, was Chase Gazluzny with 15 points. Providing valuable backup were David Flynn with 8 points and 8 rebounds, and Govan Boyd with 10 points.
The Seahawks return to action Friday when they travel to Lemon Bay.
Cape Coral 8, North Fort Myers 0: Freshman Gianni Cognata continues to lead Cape Coral in scoring after knocking in three goals Tuesday night in a shutout win over North Fort Myers.
Oscar Camacho, Laz Vega, Gerardo Carrizo, Juan Cano and Christian Iturbe each added one goal for the Seahawks. Jairo Alpire and Jonathan Jimenez each contributed two assists with Miguel Martinez, Camillo Avendano and Cognata credited with one assist apiece.
The Seahawks (7-1-1, 3-0 district) host Evangelical Christian at 6 p.m. Thursday night.
Gulf Coast 2, Ida Baker 0: Defensive lapses by Ida Baker led to two goals in a shutout loss to Gulf Coast Tuesday night.
"We played well, but Gulf Coast is a good team with a good goalkeeper," said Bulldogs coach Scott Wills. "Every challenge we had their defense shut us down."
The Bulldogs (2-3-1) play at Cypress Lake Wednesday night.
Mariner 1, Lemon Bay 1: Isaiah Romano scored the tying goal with about 20 minutes remaining in the game as Mariner settled for a tie with district rival Lemon Bay Tuesday night.
"We just could not finish," said Tritons coach Martin Cardenas. "We had tons of opportunities, but we had a lack of focus and concentration."
Justin Kuchle and Josh Teeter played well on defense for the Tritons (5-2-2), who host Naples at 6 p.m. Wednesday night.
North Fort Myers 5, Cape Coral 2: Melinda Lukas tallied three goals to lead North Fort Myers to victory Tuesday night over Cape Coral.
The Red Knights grabbed a quick 3-0 lead before the Seahawks pulled within 3-2 early in the second half. The Knights put the game away in the latter stages.
Samantha Dorsey and Mallory Guerrero got goals for the Seahawks.
Darian Leschewski and Miranda Shirk added one goal apiece for the Knights (8-0), who host Gulf Coast Friday night.

Ida Baker 65, Estero 49: Hannah Del Negro scored 21 points to help lead the Ida Baker Bulldogs past Estero, 65-49, at home Tuesday night. Both Ali Nicloy and Brittney Benvie contributed "double-doubles" in the victory, with 15 points and 14 rebounds, and 10 points and 12 rebounds, respectively. Jessie Placher just missed making it three in the special category with 13 points and 9 rebounds.
The Bulldogs, who now stand 3-2 on the year, travel to Cypress Lake today.
