Next month's roster of activities at Northwest Regional Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public:
ADULTS
English Caf
10:30 a.m., Thursdays, Nov. 1, 8, 15, 29
Practice your English with English Cafe, a free, conversation session for adult ESOL and ESL students. Each 90-minute session provides adult learners an opportunity to practice speaking English with native speakers. Participants may start at any time. Advanced registration is not necessary.
Nibbles and Novels
10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14
Enjoy a snack while you chat about books with other book lovers. Come join us.
Book Discussion: Lauren Hellenbrand's "Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption"
2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21
"Unbroken" is the story of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic athlete who was on a plane that crashed into the Pacific Ocean while on a rescue mission during World War II. His story is one of determination, survival and the resilience of the human spirit.
FAMILY
Family Storytime

This program is for the whole family and lasts about 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Baby-Parent Rhyme Time
10:30 a.m., Wednesdays, Nov. 7, 14, 28
Be prepared to tickle, jump and fly with your baby! These rhymes and songs are for infants, up to 24 months, accompanied by an adult. This 20-minute program is filled with songs designed to introduce rhyming and movement to infants. Registration is required.
Bookmark Design Contest Exhibit

Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading, during the allotted time. A total of $8 per day may be earned. For ages 18 and younger. Coupons may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only. Please bring your library card.
Tween Book Club: "Island" series

Six kids, one fate. They didn't want to be on the boat in the first place. They were sent there as a character-building experience. But now the adults are gone and the quest for survival has begun. This is just like "Survival" for teens, but laced with humor. There are three books in the series, read one and you will want to read them all. Light snacks provided by the Friends of the Northwest Regional Library. Registration required.
Gobble, Gobble! Storytime and Craft

Kids, come to the library for a special holiday storytime and craft. For ages 3 to 8. Register online or at the library before the event. Registration begins November fifth.

On the Table -- Pop Can Art

Take a painted pop can and design a pop can character - Anime, Rock or your own creation. Supplies provided by the Friends of the Northwest Regional Library.
