* Mike Greenwell's 21st annual Haunted Hike

Mike Greenwell's 21st Annual Haunted Hike, "The Carnage Begins at Dark," has begun at Greenwell's Bat a Ball & Family Fun Park in Cape Coral.

The eerie evening fun started last weekend on the park grounds.

The "Carnage" continues Oct. 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 26, 26, 30 and 31, with the 21st Annual Safe Trick or Treat planned for Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 5-8 p.m. The event is for kids 12 and under.

Those youngsters attending are urged to dress in costume and bring their own goodie bags. It's free but a donation of pet food to be donated to local animal shelters will be accepted. A $2 donation is requested for onsite parking.

* Caloosa Nature Center and Planetarium

The Haunted Walk at the Caloosa Nature Center and Planetarium starts Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.

The Haunted Walk runs through Oct. 31. Hours are 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays; Fridays and Saturdays, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Admission: $10 non-members, 13 and older; $8 members; children 12 and younger, $8. Organizers do not recommend that children younger than 8 attend the Haunted Walk but "bring them if you dare."

Friendly Forest, Oct. 26, 27, 28 and 31, offers another Halloween alternative.

Hours are 2-5 p.m. each day.

Admission: $10 non-members, 13 and older; members and their children, $5; children 12 and younger, $5, children 2 and younger free..

* Pee Wee Halloween

A Pee Wee Halloween for tots 2-3 years old will be held at Four Freedom's Park from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, Oct. 29.

You and your child can enjoy an hour of Halloween fun with story time, crafts, and a snack. Parent must attend with child.

* KidsFest

The 15th annual Harney Point Kiwanis Kids Fest will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Jaycee Park.

KidsFest will feature entertainment throughout the day as well as Halloween costume contests with prizes from 11 a.m. and 3 p.m..

Free attractions will include pony rides, bungee trampoline, rock climbing wall, bounce house and inflatable slide.

A backpack give-away from the Junior League of Fort Myers will take place during the opening ceremony at 10 a.m. for the first 200 children. The festival also will offer health and safety information, family oriented vendors, give-aways, crafts and food.

Admission to KidsFest is free, and parking is available in the park for a suggested donation of $2. Canned food donations are encouraged, and will be collected for the Cape Coral Caring Center.

More than 5,000 people attend each year.

Jaycee Park is at 4125 S.E. 20th Place in Cape Coral.
