To the editor:
Back in January 2006 I asked the City of Cape Coral Traffic Advisory Committee to place a barrier at Beach Parkway/Surfside. The reception to my proposal was of dismissal.
I offered to pay for the installation of a barrier. I wanted to prevent anyone from suffering a loss as I did on October 25, 2005 when my son, Philip R.H. Kinney, went into the canal and drowned.
If the "option" was considered and done when it was originally presented to the City in 2006 then I feel Ms. Krill would be alive today. My heart goes out to her family because a loss of your child is something you will never stop grieving.
