Ida Baker sophomore Kristina Kayatta makes a block during the Bulldogs’ win over the Mariner Tritons Monday night.

The Bulldogs scored a season low 148 as a team Tuesday at Palmetto Pine to easily defeat Cypress Lake, which carded 193. Sophomore Ross Lally shot a career-best 2-under-par 34 Tuesday to claim medalist honors while three of his teammates all turned in scores of 2-over-par 38.

"It's our best round this year," said Conforte. "We had a 149 once. It appears we are peaking at the right time."

The win puts the Bulldogs' season record at 12-1 heading into the Mustang Invitational tournament Thursday at the Seminole Lake Country Club. The Mustang is one of three 18-hole tournaments the Bulldogs will compete in over the final three weeks before the district tournament.

"It's why I scheduled these tournaments at this time," said Conforte. "Eighteen holes is a big difference. I want to make sure these kids are ready for districts and beyond."

After the Mustang Invitational this week, the Bulldogs compete in the Crutchfield Invitational in Sebring on Monday and the LCAC tournament on Oct. 8. They have two nine-hole matches remaining on the schedule, the first at home against Bishop Verot and Canterbury and make up a rained out match before the LCAC.

Tuesday's win came on the heels of Monday's round of 154 in Naples that beat Lely and Gateway Charter.

Ida Baker 148 - Ross Lally 34, Anthony Myers 38, Daichi Dougherty 38, Anthony Montoya 38.

Cypress Lake 193 - Jake Kilgore 45, Danny Jones 48, Courtney Churchill 49, Kyle Yates 51.
