Robbery suspect sought

September 3, 2012
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

The Lee County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who tried to hold up the 7-Eleven on Joel Boulevard shortly after midnight Monday.

The man demanded the cash in the register, telling the clerk at the store at 530 Joel boulevard that "he was a nice guy but owes a lot of people money," according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

When the victim told him she could not give him the money, the man lifted his shirt to display a black handgun. The clerk then warned the gunman that she had pushed the silent panic alarm and he ran out of the store empty handed.
