To the editor:
To the lady who thinks the Cape would be beautified by not allowing trucks and vans with lettering on them to be parked in driveways: Have you looked around Cape Coral lately? It's hideous. It is by far the most unsightly place I have ever lived. It is embarrassing.
Abandoned homes with months of weeds and litter are seen everywhere. Vacant lots are not mowed for months. Litter is seen everywhere. Medians are unsightly and mowed only once in a blue moon.
As for the lettered vans and trucks, they will not fit into a garage because of their height. Most carry ladders on top. Why not be grateful your neighbor has a job and keeps their homes looking decent, rather than live next to an ugly abandoned home where the lawn is as high as the fence?
We would love to move, but the Cape keeps us captive with its Mafia-like tactics. We pay more for assessments than any city in the whole U.S. of A.
We are struggling to hold onto our home. We are paying upwards of $30,000 for water. Dreams of retiring are just that, why, because the Cape is robbing us.
If you want beauty, move to Naples. Leave the working guy alone.
