JUPITER - The Jupiter Hammerheads scored 11 runs in the fifth inning en route to a 16-2 rout of the Fort Myers Miracle Wednesday night.

Miracle starter Matt Summers left the game after four innings and trailed 1-0. After the fifth, the Miracle faced a 12-0 deficit. The Hammerheads sent 14 men to the plate and scored 11 runs on nine hits off two Miracle relievers.

Ryan O'Rourke took over for Summers and allowed the first six to reach on five hits and a walk. Miguel Munoz entered with Jupiter leading 5-0 and gave up four hits, including two home runs.

On a rehabilitation stint from the Miami Marlins, Donnie Murphy had four RBI with a double and a three-run homer in the fifth inning alone. Murphy ended the night with five RBI. Also in a rehab appearance, Emilio Bonifacio scored two runs and drove in another in the fifth and he finished 2-for-5.

Fort Myers' only runs came in the top of seventh off Jupiter reliever Daniel Oliver. Danny Ortiz led off with a walk, then, after two were retired, Anderson Hidalgo also earned a free pass. Jhon Goncalves then roped a 1-0 pitch down the third base line to score Ortiz from second. Oliver then tossed a wild pitch that allowed Hidalgo to come home.

Trailing 12-2, the Miracle fell farther behind in the eighth as reliever Michael Tonkin gave up four runs, three earned, on three hits including a two-run double to Terrence Dayleg.

Jupiter starter Zach Neal was excellent in six innings of work. Neal (3-1) did not allow a run and gave up just three hits with eight strikeouts with only one walk. Summers (1-3) went four innings for the Miracle with four walks, but the run he allowed was unearned.

The Miracle (51-68, 23-29) try to avoid a sweep by Jupiter (62-58, 26-24) in the season series finale Thursday night.
