Taylor Morrison breaks ground

on 30 showcase homes

Taylor Morrison is preparing for what it anticipates to be a busy time for home sales by starting construction nearly 30 showcase homes. Home sizes will range in square footage of approximately 1,800 to over 3,000 square feet. One might say there will be something for everyone through the offering of these homes and the fully furnished models available for tours daily.

These new showcase homes will be located in the Oak Creek, Channing Park, Avelar Creek, Verona Reserve, Lucaya, and Tortuga communities and will be available for closing by Sept. 30, 2012.

With the shortage in available move-in ready homes and price appreciation throughout the division, now is the time to buy a new home in the most desirable locations in West Florida. As of local Multiple Listing Service (MLS) resale reports for the first half of 2012, the Tampa and Sarasota market has 4 months or less of home supply and the Fort Myers and Naples market has less than 6 months of home supply.

63 single-family home permits

pulled in unincorporated

Lee County during month of July

During July, contractors pulled 63 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at more than $11.6 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 56 permits issued in June and 29 issued in July 2011, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.

Four multi-family units were permitted in July compared to 29 in June and four in July 2011.

Twenty-four new commercial permits were valued at nearly $3.7 million, compared to nearly $4.6 million in June and nearly $4.4 million in July 2011.

During July, Lee County Community Development issued 2,697 permits of all kinds for a total of 19,361for the year to date.

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.

Elysium Homes Inc. moves

from Captiva to Cape Coral

Elysium Homes has moved its homebuilding operation from Captiva Island to Cape Coral and is building its first residence in the city. General contractor and company president Irina Prell opened Elysium Homes Inc. at 3729 Chiquita Blvd.

Prell owns Elysium Construction and Elysium Realty as well, and has built and remodeled homes on Captiva for several years. She now has branched out to include Cape Coral with another "Elysium," meaning a state of perfect happiness or paradise.

While Elysium Homes markets its products to all homebuyers, Prell, from Russia, is reaching out to international buyers as well as she knows the features, amenities and functional floor plans that such buyers are looking for in a new home in America.
