Stephen R. Wien Sr., age 69, of Cape Coral, died July 24, 2012. He was born on March 25, 1943, in Philadelphia, a son of Walter and Marie (LaFrance) Wien. He was a retired teacher in Edgewater Park, N.J., for 34 years.
He received his BA from Rutgers University and his MA from Trenton State College. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, Boy Scout leader and soccer coach. He also was a Civil War buff, having been a member of Forney's Battalion, USMC, re-enacting several battles and performing in movies. He was a member of Southwest Florida Mended Hearts Association visiting with patients that had had open-heart surgeries and was a Greeter at Christ Lutheran Church in Cape Coral.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Diana L. Wien (Greif) of Cape Coral; son, Stephen and (Jennifer) and granddaughters, Emma and Grace of Saddle Brook, N.J.; son, Michael and (Dawn) of Deltona, Fla.; and brother, Philip Wien of Maple Shade, N.J.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, at 11a.m., at Christ Lutheran Church, 2911 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, with the Rev. Gary La Croix officiating.
