Sheriff's Office seeks public's assistance tracking down robbery suspect

The Lee County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's help in apprehending a suspect wanted for a robbery that occurred on Sunday July 15, at the Dollar Store at 1890 Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers, located in the Weavers Corner Shopping Center.

Deputy's responded to the scene and met with the victim who stated that a white male entered the store and purchased a lighter. The victim exchanged some pleasantries with the suspect, and received a $5 bill from the suspect and opened the drawer to provide change. Once the victim opened the register, the suspect grabbed the drawer of the register and took most of the paper money within it. The suspect fled the store in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described white male, approximately 5'9", very thin, and in his 30s or 40s, with an old tattoo on his right arm and some red marks all over his face. He was last seen wearing a dark in color bandana on his head and a dark gray sweat shirt with a design on it.

Due to the nature of the crime, the Lee County Sheriff's Office Robbery Unit assumed the investigation.
