Jewelry designer Dee Cooper will host a Meet the Artist reception at the Cape Coral Library Monday, July 16, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome to stop by the library gallery that evening, see her unique beaded jewelry creations, speak with Cooper about her work and enjoy some light refreshments. Her jewelry will also be on display in the library gallery until the end of the month.
The Cape Coral Library is located at 921 SW 39th Terrace. Library phone number is 239-533-4500.
Cooper enjoys taking vintage beads and out dated jewelry (such as fresh water pearls) and making new designs out of them. Creating special pieces of jewelry to match a dress or evening wear is another aspect she loves. Dee often uses handmade glass beads from other artists as a focal point in some of her designs.
Cooper belongs to the SW Florida Craft Guild and shows her work in shops and galleries all over southern Florida. The July 16 event, sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library, will offer the opportunity for the public to meet the artist in person.
