Dr. Debra Joan Price Zerr, 57, a Cape Coral resident for less than a year, formerly of St. Peters, Mo., died Saturday, June 23, 2012, in Fort Myers. She was born Sept. 20, 1954, in St. Louis to Harvey and Betty Price, now deceased.
She was a veterinarian and a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine. After practicing in Missouri for several years, she moved to Waveland, Miss., where she opened and operated Crossroads Animal Clinic for more than 10 years. She then moved to Cape Coral in January 2012, where she was employed by Kindness Animal Hospital.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 29 years, William Zerr of Cape Coral; two children, DaNelle Schmucker of St. Peters, Mo., and Bradley Penning of Troy, Mo.; three stepchildren, Sandra Polley of St. Charles, Mo., Wayne Zerr of St. Charles, Mo., and Deborah (Dick) Dunn of Hillsboro, Mo.; a sister, Judy (Noel) Sumner of St. Louis, Mo.; three brothers, John (Yuko) Price of Ft. Collins, Colo., James Price of Lake St. Louis and Joseph (Gina) Price of Hermann, Mo.; as well as many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held in Missouri at a later date, to be announced.
