Sun Splash Family Waterpark will open its doors after hours Friday, June 22, for guests to partake in an evening of aquatic fun and the movie "Surf's Up" showing on a giant inflatable movie screen at dusk. The special event, which will take place from 6 to 10 p.m., is the second of three "Aqua Theatre Nights" to be held at Sun Splash during the 2012 season. Discounted ticket prices range from $8-$10 per person.
In addition to featuring a family-friendly movie that guests can watch from the Family Pool, all of Sun Splash's regular attractions will be open for "Aqua Theatre Night" including the park's three thrilling speed slides, plus the Main Stream River, Electric Slide, Cape Fear and Tot Spot for the little ones. Park admission for "Aqua Theatre Night" is $8 plus tax per Cape Coral resident and $10 plus tax per non-resident, or $3 per person for same day park guests who wish to stay (or return) for the evening's activities. Season pass holders are admitted free. Parking is not included.
"We've received positive feedback from guests about keeping the park open later on select evenings so they can enjoy Sun Splash at night," said Sandra Greiner, waterpark manager. "We believe incorporating 'Aqua Theatre' into the equation provides another fun element for families to benefit from and have tried to keep the ticket prices affordable to allow an even greater portion of the community to come out and enjoy Sun Splash."
Sun Splash is currently open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Aug. 7. "Family Fun Nights" are offered the second Saturday of the month from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and one additional "Aqua Theatre Night" will be held the fourth Friday of July from 6-10 p.m. (weather permitting). Movie TBA.
