Cape Coral National rallied to extend the all-Cape District 9 9-year-old All-Star Baseball tournament to the max with a 10-5 victory Friday night over Cape Coral American at Fleishman Park.

Logan Wilsker limited previously unbeaten American to two runs over five innings and National teammate Ryan Venkhatar belted a two-run single with the bases loaded to break a 2-2 tie and avenge National's loss to American Monday night.

The double-elimination format calls for the extra championship game at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fleishman Park.

Drew Gifford's stellar defense on ground balls at second base helped catapult National to victory in a total team effort.

Carson McNeely had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs for American. Third baseman Jason Slater added two infield singles and a diving catch on a foul pop while Matt Janisco also made a diving catch in the outfield.

In the District 9 13-year-old tournament, unbeaten Hancock edged Cape American 4-3 in the semifinals. Hancock (3-0) faces Fort Myers American (2-1), which ripped South Fort Myers 15-2, in Saturday's championship game at 11 a.m. at Rutenberg Park.
